[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The museum, named after the Thino sculptor Costantino Barbella, collects works of art dating from the 14th to the 20th century. Among the works exhibited, we note a detached fresco of the Sienese school, which depicts a Madonna and Child, the table with the Saint attributed to Francesco da Montereale and the preparatory drawing for the Massacre of the Innocents by Luca Giordano; in addition, the works of sixteenth-eighteenth-century landscape painters, by Raffaele Ferrara and Nicola De Laurentis, neoclassical Theatine artists, the works of Filippo Palizzi, Basilio Cascella and Paolo Michetti. The museum also has a collection of contemporary works from the various editions of the Premio Michetti (established in 1947). The collection of 16th and 18th century majolica, made by Castelli’s manufactures, is very important.<\/p>\n
